A Birthday Surprise

Yesterday, for the first time in my life, I organized a surprised party. It was Revathy’s birthday and somehow it all came together. I am thankful to everyone who contributed to making it a success. The previous sentence feels very formal but I can’t be bothered to copy it to chatGPT to ask it to rewrite it in a more informal manner.

Revathy had been talking about her 30th birthday being a major milestone almost since the time we met and even more once we got married. If we were going to be in India itself, I was planning to take her somewhere nice for a vacation. But considering our impending migration, I wanted to keep it slightly low-key while being still nice. Hence the surprise party. I think my general incompentence regarding these matters made the surprise more effective. Mikku’s health concerns also helped in diverting attention from my planning.

Anyway it went mostly splendidly except for the missing balloons as I hid them too well. Nah, it was superbly done by the rest involved who managed to keep it silent and helped decorate the house while I had taken Revathy outside shopping. I don’t think I will be able to manage this once more as now Revathy might be expecting my moves :D.
