A Notepad
I have been carrying around a notepad with me for the past two months or so and have been fairly regularly capturing my thoughts in it. It has been a nice experience and it has been the first time after quite a long time that I have actually written anything with a hand. It felt really difficult to get back in the groove. My handwriting has always been terrible and it felt even worse to write again. An ink pen (the famous Lamy Safari) has been a good motivation to write though I ended up finally with a random black ballpoint pen I picked up from office. The advantage with it was that it could fit easily in the loop that is part of the mini-diary thing I have.
I am a bit uncomfortable with the size of the notebook as it is not any of the A's (It is a 3.5"x6.5" paper if you are curious). I feel like I would prefer an A6 sized page but this is what I have and I felt it is more important to get into the habit with something than play around with different sizes and shave all the yaks in Nepal and end up writing nothing. This notebook is almost over (it had just 50 pages or so), and I have one more like it. Once these two are over (hopefully), I will move to the famous Field Notes sized notebooks which are easier to carry. This one requires special pockets for carrying, easier in the winter but quite tedious outside of it.
All the above word vomit is basically just a short update to indicate that after my last update, I have not been completely out of sorts, instead I have been going regularly to the gym and writing on and off in a notebook and using my mobile for less than an hour a day. My laptop usage remains high though I am optimistic because before this, my screen time used to be 10+ hours on the phone along with whatever I am doing on the computer. Now I just need to focus on reducing one. I saw many people post such short posts on their blogs and thought I should also do something like that.
